Roles in the Biogasregister

Who does what?

The people who use the biogasregister fulfil different roles in the biomethane verification process. Each role has different tasks - and requires different functionalities. The following is a brief overview:

As an injector of biomethane into the natural gas grid, you can use the register to document the production criteria in the register and transfer quantities to your buyers.

Injector companies are companies which, according to an injection contract, inject biomethane into the natural gas grid. As an injector company, the facility is located under your company node.

You configure the quantities, are also responsible for the categorisation of the criteria, and monitor the greenlighting process. When configuring quantities, you will incur costs.

You will need to hire an auditor to verify the criteria. You will find all registered auditors in the List of auditors.

Subsequently, you will be able to transfer/withdraw quantities to/for your buyers and/or end customers.

If you would like the activities in the biogas register to be carried out by a service provider you have commissioned, this is not a problem at all. Your service provider simply needs to register a user who will then receive access to your company.

By using the biogas register, you as a producer receive flexibility in the marketing of your products. Because a distributor is able to provide proof of the biogas's origin to each end customer via the register extract, there is no risk for him when purchasing the biogas, thereby providing the highest degree of efficiency during sales.

As a trader, you can have the proofs of purchased quantities transferred to you in the register.
The account system makes it easy to "transfer" verifications from one account to another.
For clarity, it is also possible to create several sub-accounts.
This way you always have an overview of your certificates.

The biogas register offers traders the advantage of a compact, recognised and fully comprehensive verification of biomethane. This simplifies trading operations considerably and traders can concentrate on their core business. An overview of the different products can be found in the product matrix.

As a supplier of biogas to end customers, you not only deliver the biogas physically to the dispensation point, but also generate the corresponding register extract.
To do so, you will need to select the corresponding quantity with the required criteria profile from your account in the register. Then, in the withdrawal dialogue, enter the data of the recipient and generate a register extract in PDF format. You can then easily transmit this extract to the recipient.

Together, the register extract and delivery slip serve as a record proving that the requirements specified by the corresponding laws have been satisfied.

For end customers, the register extract provides a simple and reliable option for maintaining records as proof of origin and quality. Together with the delivery slip, it allows records to be kept which demonstrate that legal requirements have been adhered to.

The biogas register extract provides end customers with an officially recognised and completely transparent record of the biomethane quantities acquired.

This record is recognised by all official authorities and guarantees rapid and cost-efficient processing when claiming funding.

Auditors play a key role in the biogas register. Initially, they audit the biomethane facility itself, and subsequently the quantities and quality of the biomethane produced. The producer of biomethane usually approaches them and requests an audit of his biomethane facility. The audit is carried out by the auditor on site and the result is made available in the biogas register.
The use of the biogas register is free of charge for auditors.

Notes for audit reports

In order to allow for the quick assessment and verification of facility and company audits submitted, dena has compiled a document containing recommendations on compiling an audit report.

It contains all the major criteria for auditing a facility and/or company, as well as recommendations for creating audit documents with a compact and clear layout.
